从艺历程：1999年成军於澳洲墨尔本，The Cat Empire三位创始团员为主唱/打击乐手Felix Riebl、键盘手Ollie McGill、Double Bass/贝斯手Ryan Monro﹔后来随著喇叭手/主唱Harry James Angus、鼓手Will Hull-Brown、以及DJ/打击乐手Jamshid Khadiwala加入，The Cat Empire正式成为六人乐团。六位热爱表演、精力充沛、几乎每天玩音乐的大男孩，用天马行空的创意将雷鬼、嘻哈、节奏蓝调、ska、pub-rock、acid jazz…等多样元素巧妙编织成散发欢愉气氛的流行音乐。
坦承没有半个团员养猫的The Cat Empire，解释团名灵感来自主唱Felix的弟弟Max在7岁时画的一幅画﹔当团员聚集在Felix家中为团名绞尽脑汁时，不约而同看到了冰箱上Max的画作，於是团名就此定案。
现场演出资历身经百战的The Cat Empire於2003年发行首张同名专辑，只花了两个月时间就在澳洲卖破金唱片，并获邀为灵魂乐教父James Brown的世界巡回演唱会澳洲场担任开场嘉宾。2005年远赴古巴哈瓦那录音的第二张大碟《Two Shoes》问世，空降澳洲专辑榜冠军的气势迅速热卖双白金。2006年，第三张专辑《Cities》荣获澳洲录音工业协会音乐奖「最佳世界音乐专辑」的殊荣、并完成巡回亚洲、美洲与欧洲12国45场的大型演唱会。
